India: Farmers protesting over Modi govt’s trade deal with US

In India, farmers are angry over Modi government’s trade deal with the US and protesting across the country.
According to the Indian media, India-US trade agreement has posed a severe threat to millions of cotton farmers in India.
It reported that the import of corn, cotton, fruits and soybeans from the US at zero duty will also cause significant damage to farmers.
The Indian media reported that cotton is not being sold, prices are falling and farmers are sinking into debt in Punjab, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
