There has been a change instated by the President of Pakistan, on the advice of Prime Minister Imran Khan, with taxes regarding electricity bills.
According to the details of the notification, the third amendment herein dictates the amount of tax that would be collected upon one’s electricity bill being with a certain bracket. Following is how it will proceed:
- Additional tax for bills under Rs 10000 would be 10%
- Additional tax for bills under Rs 20000 but above Rs 10000 would be 10%
- Additional tax for bills under Rs 30000 but above Rs 20000 would be 15%
- Additional tax for bills under Rs 40000 but above Rs 30000 would be 20%
- Additional tax for bills under Rs 50000 but above Rs 40000 would be 25%
- Additional tax for bills under Rs 75000 but above Rs 50000 would be 30%
- Additional tax for bills exceeding Rs 75000 would be 35%
