Message of peace for the world, but no compromise on sovereignty: Chairman Senate

Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjarani in his special message on the occasion of Pakistan Day said that March 23 is a very important day for us, as our forefathers decided to change their destiny under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.

Chairman Senate added that they adopted a strategy of struggle for the establishment of a separate state and this led to the foundation of Pakistan was laid on March 23rd, 1940.

Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani said that we need to understand the significance of this day in the real sense. We have a lot of problems. The country and national unity are facing terrorism, extremism, poverty and economic problems for which we all need to adopt a common strategy.

Mohammad Sadiq Sanjarani said that Pakistan is a loving country and wants peaceful solution to all problems and we send this message of peace to the world, but if anyone challenges our sovereignty and regional security, this country has the potential to respond. The Armed Forces of Pakistan have not only ensured national defense but also maintained their commitment to protect the geographical borders and are considered one of the best and fearless forces in the world. All the problems of Pakistan can be solved by following the thoughts and guiding principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and for the development of the country we have to take steps beyond political affiliations. He expressed the hope that we would be more committed to the development and prosperity of the country and would make a concerted effort to overcome the challenges that are essential for the development and prosperity of the country.

Deputy Chairman Senate, Senator Mirza Muhammad Afridi, while congratulating the nation on Pakistan Day, said that the historic resolution passed under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah later gained recognition in this name. This resolution gave a clear sense of purpose and only 7 years later, Pakistan came into being. Deputy Chairman of the Senate further said that we have to take a deep look at our past and reflect on our present and future as well as our shortcomings. Pakistan came into being through democratic struggle. The secret of its survival, security, unity, development and prosperity also lies in democracy. Let us pledge to make the thoughts of Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as a beacon for the strength and pride of our dear homeland as a living and determined nation. May Allah be our supporter and helper (Ameen).

On the occasion of 23rd March, Pakistan Resolution Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm all over Pakistan. The day began with a 31-gun salute in the federal capital. On this occasion, the soldiers of Pakistan Army chanted slogans of “Long live Pakistan”. The day also started with salute of 21 cannons in Lahore garrison. The Peshawar garrison also fired 21 artillery shells in connection with the Independence Day celebrations. The day started with a salute of 21 cannons in Quetta Cantt.
