The trial in the Noor Mukadam murder case in the district and sessions court Islamabad has been adjourned to September 11.
According to reports, the lawyers submitted their advocacy papers to the court on behalf of the plaintiff. The court has set the hearing for the case on September 11 for final arguments in Zahir Jaffer’s case. A petition for bail after the arrest was filed.
On the other hand, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to plaintiff Shaukat Mukadam on Zakir Jaffer’s bail plea. The IHC has also sought records of the Noor murder case from police by next week. Zakir Jaffer has hired renowned lawyer Khawaja Haris to fight his case.
The district and sessions court rejected Zakir Jaffer’s bail plea, and currently, he is locked up in Adiala jail.
Two days ago, Tahir Zahoor, owner of Therapy Works, also involved in the case, revealed at a press conference that Zahir Jaffer, the murderer, wasn’t mad, but rather an alcoholic upon which the former said the latter needs to be admitted to a hospital.
Tahir Zahoor further said that when speaking to Zakir Jaffer about the murder his son committed, his father’s reaction was not what it should have been. Any father would tremble to hear such news, he said, but Zakir Jaffer’s reaction was minor, in which he stated that maybe Zahir was too intoxicated which led him to commit murder.
It should be noted that Noor Mukadam, daughter of the former ambassador to South Korea Shaukat Mukadam, was murdered and beheaded by Zahir Jaffer in the outskirts of the Kohsar police station in Islamabad, on July 21.
