KARACHI — September 10, 2026: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar appeared before the judicial commission investigating the death of businessman Mir Raza Ali and offered an unconditional apology during proceedings, as the panel continued examining concerns raised by the victim’s family and questions surrounding the investigation.

The commission, headed by Sindh High Court Justice Omar Sial, had summoned Lanjar after an earlier hearing was disrupted by an objection from Sindh Advocate General Jawad Dero to questions put to a police surgeon by lawyer Jibran Nasir, who represents Mir Raza’s family. The commission had expressed concern that the intervention could affect the family’s ability to raise questions before the panel.

During the proceedings, Justice Sial highlighted the family’s lack of confidence in the investigative process.
